Banks Peninsula’s signature summer raceday returns on Monday 29 December, bringing together live entertainment, giveaways, kids’ activities, great food, and relaxed grass-track racing at Motukarara. It’s one of Canterbury’s favourite ways to enjoy the holidays — sunshine, family time, and a full day of action on and off the track.

Limited gazebo sites are still available for groups wanting a shaded base for the day. These can be booked through the Club’s website.

On course, there’ll be plenty happening. Enjoy fantastic live music from John McCabe, a full birdcage announcer/MC team calling the giveaways and keeping the afternoon flowing, and the always-popular Kidz Karts races.

Kids are in for a huge day with a petting zoo, pony rides, bouncy castle, water wheels, vertical bungee, Kid’s Picks, and a lolly scramble. Adults can get involved in the Punters Club, with prizes and activity throughout the afternoon.

Food options include the Country Feast Cafeteria and BBQ, Real Fruit Ice Cream, American Donuts, Coffee Man, and Mussel Madness, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
