A Day at the Races in Oamaru
Just north of Oamaru, Oamaru Racecourse hosts harness racing throughout the season, from relaxed midweek meetings to some of the biggest races in the region.
The racecourse has both an all-weather track and a grass track, with a mix of weekday and weekend racing. It's a chance to spend an afternoon watching the horses, catching up with friends and enjoying a day at the trots.
One of the highlights is the Hannon Memorial, a race with a long history and an important place in the build-up to the New Zealand Trotting Cup.
