Once a year, South Bay Racecourse comes alive for two days of harness racing, with the mountains on one side, the sea nearby and racegoers gathering from around the country.

The annual Kaikōura racing weekend brings together top-class racing, food, drinks and a relaxed, trackside atmosphere. Bring your mates, find a spot by the track and enjoy a day in the sun, or make a weekend of it and stay a little longer.

Monday's Kaikōura Cup is a highlight of the racing calendar and an important lead-up to the New Zealand Trotting Cup.
