Firsties is your easiest way to try a night at the races. Expect a relaxed, social evening with great food, cold drinks and live racing that is far more exciting than you might expect. You don't need to know anything about the sport. We keep it friendly and simple from the moment you arrive.
Tickets are $25, or $20 per person when you book four or more.

Need to Know
Do I need to know anything about racing?
Not at all. You don’t need to be a racing expert to enjoy the night. Our friendly Firsties Host will explain how it all works and make sure you feel right at home.
Do I have to bet?
Nope. Betting’s totally optional. The Punters Club gives everyone a share in the excitement, even if you never place a bet yourself.
What should I wear?
There’s no dress code, just come as you are. From jeans and sneakers to frocks and shirts, The Trots is all about relaxed, social fun.
What time should I arrive?
Gates open at 5PM and the action kicks off soon after. Most people arrive between 5 and 6 to grab a drink, find their spot, and settle in.
How long do I have to stay?
It’s completely up to you. The night runs from around 5:00pm to 10:00pm, but you can come and go whenever you like, stay for a few races or make a full night of it.
How do I get there?
It’s easy! There’s free parking at Alexandra Park, or you can grab a quick bus (route 30, 321, 65, N10 and 309), taxi or Uber to Greenlane. The venue’s central and easy to find, so getting there (and home) is simple.
